Leopards of Aravalli (3N4D)

Season (1 Oct to 30 Jun)

Overview

Jawai set in the rugged folds of the Aravalli hills, offers a wildlife experience unlike any forest safari in India. This is a landscape of granite outcrops, caves, and scrub, where leopards live in remarkable proximity to local communities. Leopards here are the undisputed focus, often seen resting on sunlit rocks, emerging from caves, or moving confidently across open terrain, sometimes even during daylight. The open, rocky habitat allows for clear visibility and extended observations, making Jawai one of the most reliable places in the country to photograph and study leopard behavior. Beyond leopards, the region supports hyenas, jungle cats, crocodiles near water bodies, and a strong diversity of birdlife, including raptors. What truly defines Jawai is coexistence. Temples, villages, and wildlife share the same space with minimal conflict. Safaris are slow-paced and observation-driven, emphasizing tracking, light, and behavior rather than speed. Jawai feels raw, intimate, and grounded, offering close encounters with one of India’s most adaptable big cats in a landscape shaped by time and tradition.
